Assessment 2: Game Design

  • P3: Produce a design for a computer game for a given specification
  • M1: determine appropriate data types for a computer game and show how they are declared
  • M4: suggest improvements to a computer game following user feedback.

Lesson Activities

  1. 15 min Tutor: Explain Assessment 2 in detail and answer any questions.
  2. 15 min Tutor: Explain Parameters and Return types and demonstrate how to add them to the game class diagram.
  3. 15 min Students: Add Parameters and Return types to the game class diagram.
  4. 20 min Students & Tutor: Conduct a Design walkthrough in a group of five to identify any errors, omissions, ambiguities and improvements.
  5. P3 - Students: Record a list of all agreed design improvements and identify who will be responsible for making them.
  6. M4 - Students: Record a list of all suggested game improvements.
