Junior doubles

Team Play: The Club enters numerous junior teams in County and National leagues including Aegon Team Tennis, Hertfordshire Junior Summer League, Road to Wimbledon, 16U Winter Singles League and Herts Winter Mini Tennis League. If you are interested in representing the Club at any level please contact Martin Taylor on 07779 665556 or martin.taylor4@tesco.net who will be able to advise the best level of team for you and put you in contact with the Team Captain. Mini Tennis Tournaments: The Club runs regular Mini Tennis events for members and non-members, usually once a term. Individual Lessons

Junior Social Tennis Fridays 4:30-6:30.
This is a social evening for the juniors when they have priority on the courts and is suitable for players 10 years+ who can serve, rally and score. There are regular evenings of organised activities and fun competition.


Junior Coaching

Term starts week beginning Monday 5th January 2015 and ends week beginning Monday 1st March 2015. Courses do not run during the October half term week. Reserve week (in case of bad weather) is week beginning Monday 8th March 2015.

Mini Tennis Coaching: The Club offers the opportunity for 5 to 11 years olds to play tennis in our Mini Tennis coaching programme. This coaching is divided into 3 levels, Mini Red (5 to 7 years), Mini Orange (7 to 9 years) and Green (9 to 11 years). Groups run weekdays, Saturdays and during school holidays.

Junior Group Coaching: the Club offers coaching for Junior players who are 11 years+ both during the week, on Saturdays and during the school holidays.

Individual Coaching

Very young player

Martin Taylor, Head Coach, has passed his LTA Level 1 Award in 1988, Level 2 Award in 1989 and Level 3 Award in 1991. Martin has a full LTA Level 5 Coaching License and a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclose Certificate

Nancey Taylor (née Brooke) rejoined St Albans Tennis Club in December 2003, having previously been a member from the age of 5. As a junior she represented the county and region and went on to play at National level.

As Mini Tennis Coach Nancey will be establishing a Mini Tennis programme that can be enjoyed by junior members aged 10 and under.

Ross Alexander joined us in May 2012. Ross is a particularly strong player. He will be helping out a lot with the younger stronger juniors but is available to all for individual lessons.
